Getting back into Goodreads

I know I’m late to the party here but I’ve been having fun starting up my Goodreads account again. Based on the books I was in-progress on, I’m guessing I stopped using it back in 2012 or ‘13. Safe to say I’m not going to be able to backfill all my books since then, but I can definitely cull some of the David Foster Wallace books from the to-read list.

The latest book I finished this morning was The Heads of the Colored People by Nafissa Thompson-Spires. It’s a fantastic and tidy collection of short stories, character sketches, really that made me laugh, cry, and think on class, race, and public life. As the name suggests, the primary characters are all Black, and specifically, a diverse ensemble of Black working people: Artists, academics, parents, nurses, and doctors. I highly recommend it and I’m definitely excited to see what Thompson-Spires writes next.

I’m not sure what comes next, maybe I’ll find a recommendation in Goodreads.
